Default Whistling noise

I get a whistling noise at start up. But not all the time and by the time I get out and get the hood opened, it is gone. I did a search and did not see the problem posted, but I could have missed it. If this has been asked before, I apologize.

It could be, it happens at random.

Yes it is normal, Disco Mike or someone else can give you a technical explanation (or check the "Emissions Control - V8" section of the RAVE)

changing the filter (you have to make a new one) sometimes quiets it down a bit.

Check the write up section for a how to on replacing the filter for the SAI.
It is a emissions device, it pumps fresh air into the exhaust to speed up the catalytic converters reaching optimum operating temp.
It works like a black smiths bellows on a fire.
It only comes on when the engine temp is below "X" degree's, thats why its at random and it only runs for 30 sec.
