I could use one for a parts truck.
If you are not to far I would be in the market.
Where are you at?
But I will tell you the track rod assembly maybe the biggest
problem.

Well that kind of blows that, because I'm in Dallas Texas,
about 2,000 miles away.
With what iswrong and what could go wrong on a trip that
long itwould not work for either of us.
If you are set on getting rid of it you could part it out.
A transfer case is good for $700 to $900 USD,
and the list will go on Diffs, motor, trams, glass, it would take
a little time but you could make money if you have a place to
have it set to part it out.
Good luck

If it were my money, I would crawl under the truck and look at every one of the components they listed for you. Odds aresome of them are still serviceable. For those that aren't, I would buy the parts at a discount warehouse and do the work myself with the RAVE cd. For the ECU, what's the symptom you're seeing? It's possible there is another cheaper fix. You can do the head gaskets yourself too.
Once I did all the work, I'd buy myself a bunch of tools with some of the money I saved. It would take you two weekends, tops. Well worth it forprobably $10K savings and your time in learning would be an investment.

well to be honest i dont really have much time to do work on it, i did check out some parts and on the parts alone i can save like 3000 but at worst case its still gunna cost me about a couple of g's which i rather not invest into it, so if anyone wants it as is and we can work something out that would be great, i plan on getting something new next year and my range rover sport 06 is still kickin hard!!
so please someone buy this thing!! is there no way for me to get the thing to texas and it be worth it for both of us?? the faster i get rid of it the faster the wife lets me buy something new hahaha

Oh boy!!!! I think you're getting screwed and tattooed. There's a couple of Land Rover mechanics in your area, one in Brampton which I don't remember the name, and there's Land Rover salvageabout half way to Ottawa in Madoc, I think. You definitely need to get in touch with one of these guys.
The dealer is being a crook. A head gasket should cost you $1700.00 at the most with taxes at the dealership. LR salvage would probably charge you just shy of a grand. The front gasket, I had it done myself at the Ottawa dealership and the total cost was around $580.00 with taxes.
I say get your parts on ebay, or better yet, from Rover Park boys in alberta, delivery is quick, prices are competitive and they can get most of what you need. For example, I paid $9.99 for a t-case seal, and the dealer was charging me $35.00 for the exact same part!!!!
Land Rover Salvage can also get the parts on top of installing them. even better, their names say it all. They part discoveries and most likely have most of what you need used in stock. I say you can have everything done for under 4 grand.

I agree about you getting screwed royally!! The front track rod...(drag link) entire assembly with ball joints cost me $150 at my dealer. Took me under 30 minutes to adjust and install. I understand you not wanting to mess with it, and if I were closer, I might be in the market, but I wouldn't want to pay much more than what it would cost to get the truck here.
Just out of curiosity, how fast were you going when you hit that huge boulder? I lost it on the ice 2 years ago and slammed into a large curb. That's how I bent my drag link...

Holy crap! Are there like $10 Canadian to the £ GBP these days or something? Seriously inflated parts prices mate!
That's nearly £7,000 worth of repair bill... Jeez I could buy an absolute pearl of a '96 Disco over here for that and ship it to Canada and still have change! And it would be a Tdi (diesel) instead of those daft V8 things that do stupidly low mpg.
Try these guys for parts prices, they're in the UK and I can't comment on their shipping prices to the North Americas as I've never done it... but all the same!

£185 for a recon unit and that's including £100 exchange surcharge... err... thats about $370 if you don't return the dead box to them, more like $170 if you do.
And $1570 to fit a steering box - FOXTROT OSCAR! That's not just 'taking the Mickey', it's 'taking the whole darn Mouse family'!
Hope the links are useful,
