His jeep is pretty sweet
First off it is a Rubicon. If you do not know, then google it
Second he has 4 inch lift, off road bumpers and winch
He left his 35"tires in TX

haha I know what a Rubicon is, they are pretty awesome, and his sounds really nice. I'll keep an eye out for it this weekend.

LOL Ed...I keep a folder on my desktop with all the common questions and answers (u-joints, head gaskets, etc.) a LR owner would ever ask...simple "copy and paste". I've used the search function a few times and sometimes it produces results and sometimes it does not.
I'd rather just post the correct answer for newbies...that's how I learned...

I'll probably build my way up as the weekend goes on because I'm certainly not what I would consider "experienced". Of course, rock climbing with my stock disco wont be on the list of things to do.

Well I just got back from the auto parts store. I got new front brake pads (old ones are paper thin) and I got two of the three pdq u-joints. Had to orderthe third one. Will be here thursday. So I'll rebuild the front drive shaft Friday. So hopefully I'll make it up. I hate to go with a bad o2 sensor wasting gas but I really want to go. Btw those part numbers y'all gave me for the ujoints.. To the person saying autozone used cheap Chinese ujoints... I got the autozone duralast ujoints.. And when they gave me the boxs they were PDQ 10005 joints. In PDQ boxes. They had the grease fittings on the end caps. Thanks for the info. Although I have one question.. What's the ball kit you listed? I looked under the truck.. Looks like you just rebuild the front shaft with the 3 ujoints. Did I miss something?

I went in october, and the easy to moderate trails at uwharrie are getting pretty rough do to the closing of tellico, but I have street tires and my truck did great. I just took it easy, and my truck did more than I thought it would. I'm bringing my 3 yr old daughter with me I think she'll have a blast, she's been talking about camping for 3 days now. I can't wait. oh yea don't come with stock running boards, lol.

i have a 2" lift and bigger tires.
I once followed a guy on one of the moderate trails at night driving a rang rover sport. He did not even scratch a rim. I learned that if you take your time you can get through a lot with out damage
