hey sorry to hear this. I have a HG to do also and hope no cracked head.. So what is URO stand for?

 

URO is a brand, I'm unsure of what exactly it stands for.

 

Have the heads checked out by a machine shop to be sure - it’d suck to redo a head job because of that

Folks, with the quarantine it was time to get the truck done.

It's been sitting in my garage for a while untouched, but started right up. I noticed it sounded like an externally blown HG which I later confirmed.


So!!!!!!! With some new gaskets, ARP studs, and some reman heads, she's running great! Currently tracking down a vacuum leak and one of the o2 sensors definitely is cooked with what erratic readings are coming from it. I'll replace it if it doesn't change after the vacuum leak is fixed.

No overheating, all new lines in, and driving great! So happy to finally be back in this one. Missed the custom double din Apple Carplay stereo and all of that.

make sure to put an alarm and you better know in the future before it breaks down ok?

 

Now, just make sure you stop every ten or twelve feet and check those hoses...this is something every responsible Land Rover owner does...lol.

 

despite the tone deaf nature of one or two of the posters in this thread, an UltraGauge set to monitor temps and an alarm configured on it to go off around 225* or so isn't a bad idea.

 

Not likely any sort of gauges going in it. I get the risk, but..

Out of the many many Discos that I've had, I've never had this issue before.
