Default Wind Noise

I was driving my DISCO today on the interstate and there is a lot of wind noise coming from the passenger side of the vehicle. Seems to be at or near the back door. My first glance did not turn up anything obvious. It is much noisier than the drivers side. Has anyone else had this issue? Are there any particular areas that I need to focus my search on?

Mine does that as well, I just do to Home Depot and get black weather stripping on top of the original and close the door. That works for me.

Check the vertical weather stripping in the window channels. It has a tendency to fall down over the years. You can very gently work it back up. One of mine was down about two inches, causing a perplexing wind noise, until I found it.

I agree with Nick and Andy on this too... One of ours has been doing this also. It only happens in the winter as the cold causes everything to shrink some. I put some silicone in the channel before I pulled the stripping back up. Hopefully it'll hold it in place.

You're driving a garden shed at 65mph, it's going to make some noise!

Thanks for the tip. I have had wind noise by the rear pass door since I got my DII in November. It was been on my list to look at. I looked today after I saw your post. The channel dropped about 2". I used needle nose pliers to grab it and slide it up.

I've been driving a new Explorer rental for a few days, and I wondered about that noise I was hearing in it... apparently it's dead silence!

So were talking about the strip in the actual door window frame itself? I'll have to look at that.
