Default Windshield washer jets (nozzles)

I need to replace the windshield washer jets on my DII. The specified part number (DNJ500090) is stupid-expensive for what it is - $24.95 for the aftermarket version at Atlantic British and comparably priced elsewhere. The aftermarket version for the P38 (DNJ100750) is still expensive at $13.95 from AB. It looks identical to me except it has a tubing elbow and barb connector attached to it. Has anyone here tried it and saved the eleven bucks? Both are available on Amazon and elsewhere at similar prices.

Interesting. I'll be watching for replies. I just broke the barb connector off of my passenger side washer jet. Mine had an angle built into it. I may try super glue before spending $25 for the part.

yeah, the barb connector is broken on the driver side of mine. I'm just going to super glue it.

By looking at the photos of the P38 jet, it appears that you can cut off the rubber elbow and would be left with a straight barb like the DII jet.

I need a jet for my DII. A needle broke off in off of the jets when I was trying to adjust it.

You can get the P38 version (Britparts) shipped from the UK (LRdirect) for $8.31 + $6.30 S&H.

But the question asked was ... do the P38 jets fit the DII hood openings as it appears they would?

Drowssap, I don't follow your point. Headlight jets may spray more water but how is that relevant for the windshield? I won't be mounting headlamp washers on my hood.

And you refer to a DII upgrades article in "4WD." Is this the article to which you are referring? If so I don't see anything in it about washers of any kind. If not please let us know what it is you are thinking of. Thanks.

completely different article i haven't seen that one.

and yes that is exactly what they did they mount bumper headlight washer jets on the hood in place of the standard ones. looked like a car wash when used.

they were the early big bumper D2 jets, the were the flat type that have two jets like 03/04

Ah. That makes more sense. I was thinking of the '99-'02 headlight jets. But they're even more expensive.
