Default wiper arms for D2 and the rest

I noticed that wiper arm failure is mostly due to aluminum corrosion on the splines inside the mounting hole. I think that this is due to electrolosis from the steel spindle. So I used some lithium grease upon reassembly of new arms. What, then is the preferred method of lubricant for everything else?? Graphite? WD-40? Silicon ?? There are many squeaks on the Rover, from heater motor whine, air pump, and other minor irritations. What should be lubed, and what shouldn't ??

i use wd40 silicon on most of that junk. hood release parts, door locking/opening mechanisms, wiper, hinges, etc.
as for the shouldn't........dunno...... exhaust, headlights, windscreen come to mind
