Wiper stopped working ( in rain of course...)

Wiper stopped working ( in rain of course...)
Drivers side wiper all of the sudden stopped working; feels like it loosened itself up, pulled over to see if we could tighten but no luck. Motor seems to still be working.
And Of course we're about 40 minutes
from home in pouring rain, almost dusk. Ugh. Help.
