Default Wipers becoming rare: Any chance of a conversion?

Canadian Tire has discontinued the last Disco 2 compatible wiper.
This complicates my life.
Has anyone tried a conversion to a more mainstream arm? Is this a thing that is even possible?
Seems to me like it should be a thing, just a hinge after all...

I switched to the Disco 1 wiper arms. There is a plethora of blades which will work with the Disco arms with the traditional wiper arm connector design. Plus, the blades which fit the Disco 1 arms are typically cheaper.

I managed to pull out the rubber blade part of the wiper, go to autozone and find a rubber insert that had the same exact size. Just slid the new one back in and cut to size. $9 job.

Like it's been said, very possible to run a D1 arm/blade and very easy to do. I've done it to every DII I've owned.

Looks like this > How To Retrofit Discovery I Wiper Arm Onto A Discovery II

With this > Land Rover Discovery 2 Wiper Blades - Part # WAU

Or go to the salvage yard and pull some good arms off a D1 and save some $. Either way, yes it can be done.

Most people switch to D1 arms, but the D1 style caps are NLA, so you'll have to get them off a junkyard d1

D1 now too? I know the RRC caps are NLA, but I thought you could still get the D1 at least a few months ago. PRC8253 still shows up on some sites, maybe they just have some old stock they haven't sold yet.

I wonder if the d2 style rubber cap that just covers the nut would work: DKG100120

I recently installed Rovers North's Proline arms. It's a great cheap upgrade. They told me about the caps when I ordered it, but I was able to press fit the d2 caps onto the nut. It looks fine.
