Default Wiring Land Rover brush guard lights

I have a 1999 Series II Discovery that I want to add a brush guard to. I have found a used one of a 2000 in the locar area that came with factory LR fog lights on it. He said that it came wired from the factory. I was wondering if the wiring exists for it in my Series II or will I have to run completely new wires to a new switch. Thanks.

Also will a Series II rear view mirror with the integrated compass from a 2000 Discovery fit on my 1999?

Fred, not sure about the wiring hook-ups on your truck, but if you must run complete wiring, be sure to use a relay, and the factory style fog light switches are for sale at roverparts.com for about $20. They also sell the genuine auxillary light wiring kit, but it's big $$ about $250.

Fred, If you search around the radiator/grille are, you should find the factory wiring package.

Mike, are you talking about the factory light harness' for the lowerfog lightsbehind each headlight? or is there another harness wired to a switch other than the fog light switch?

I have the stock lights on my brushgaurd and they have never worked since I've had the truck. I traced the wiring from the factory switch thru the firewall and it ended up being a black box mounted on the back of the fuse box under the hood. The wires from the switch run into the bottom then back out to the lights. I guess its a relay and mines bad and I haven't had the money for the new wiring kit nor have I tried adding another relay and wiring around that box. I hope this helps.

Mine were hooked into the switch on the left of the gauge bezel, below the factory fog light buttons...the third on down and it has the #2 inside the decal of the lamp on the switch.

Do you mean that that 3rd switch actually works and that you have to do is plug the light in ????

I know that a lot of options are there, and that all you have to do is hook things up, like the heated seats,cd player and other stuff, but I didn't know that the same was truefor fog lights, if it is !?!

Ok so lets see if I read this right, if I have lights ready to go, there is already wiring set up somewhere on the disco? Are they already hooked up to the extra light switches? I saw that I might have to by a new switch to replace the blank ones. Let me know what you find out, I am getting ready to but the Brush guard on and the lights are coming soon.

Don't mean to highjack or anything, but I too have the Land Rover Safari 5000 lights that the dealer gave me, mounted on my nudge (A) bar and ready to go.

I found the wiring and plug-in for extra lightsunder the bumper just beside the the connectionsfor the stock fog lights. In fact, that wiring is zip tied along the stock fog lights wiring. I checked, and the plug-ins perfectly match the Safari 5000 lights.

So what do you know???
