is there any reason i cant cut the new style, continuous abs sensor wires and splice in the original 2 pin connectors?

i don't want to have to rewire the whole truck every time an abs sensor goes bad, which seems to be often enough that in line disconnects are warranted.

 

I wired one in last weekend. Ran the new wire as far as I could in the engine bay. Twisted it onto the existing wires, sealed it up - works like a champ. Would recommend using as much of new wire as you can. Old connectors are known trouble areas.
