Angry Won't Start

I have a 2001 Disco SE7 that won't start. There isn't even an attempt to turn over - no clicking, nothing. The lights and radio won't turn on, and the remote keyless entry isn't responding either.

There have been some major problems over the past year - mainly the RKE not functioning, turn signals not working, and it sometimes won't shift out of Park. These aren't constant problems though - it only happens sometimes. But now its not starting at all. The battery was just replaced this winter.

Any ideas for what the issues are? I'm to the point now where it's probably going to be more expensive to fix it than its actually worth, but am looking for any suggestions.

Thanks!

start by checking to see if the battery is charged. IF not, get it charged up and then try to start it. If it is charged and you aren't getting any power to the key, check for loose or disconnected wires. It might be a simple fix, well there is always hope....Phil

Try resetting the inertia switch. If your dash lights aren't lighting up then you have other problems. Check the battery and earth connections.

Thanks for the help! I'm hoping its not the battery since that was just replaced in January. I'll try the inertia switch. How do I do that?

Press in the reset button, it's on the back of the firewall.
But if you have no electrical power then it's not the inertia switch.

Just because the battery was just replaced does not mean the battery is any good or charged.
If the alternator is weak a new battery will only delay the inevitable.
