worth more in parts?
I have joked for years that my disco is probably worth more in parts/scrap than I could sell it for. Looking at some recent for sale ads I think it might actually be true now.
btw, no plans to sell or scrap. New grabber AT2s and trimmed front bumper..ready for the trail!

It's hard to say. Today I looked at a mid 90s Range Rover that looked like it'd been to hell and back twice, and the seller was asking $2500. He may not get $2500, but really that is a fair price for a good running 4x4 even if it is beat up.
If your truck is in good shape and runs well, I bet you'd be better off selling whole.

Parts...all day long. There are dozens of Discos on Kijiji for around a grand.
I paid $800 for mine with a blown motor. Other than pass door lock, nothing else wrong with the truck, solid body and frame.
I didnt bother trying to sell any of the engine parts, just pulled it and scrapped it, same with the transmission. Got $110 in scrap material, another $300 for the scrap cats. Half the cost of the truck right there. Wheels and a few choice parts and voila, there's your trucks cost.
Some people on the other hand are dreamers, they want 3K for trucks that are ready for the crusher.
