Worth it to relocate coil packs
I have toyed with the idea. You can make your own lengths or you can order custom lengths.
I was thinking of placing the coil packs on the Plenum but not sure if there would be enough clearance of the hood. Have not had a spare to play with it.

I'm not sure if the coils are placed in the middle of the engine so that both sides of the engine have equal length wires. Would one side of the engine having almost double the length wires have any bad effects?
I read that the longer the length wire the greater the resistance and the higher the voltage the coil needs to supply power to the spark plug, so it burns just slightly hotter. Would that cause the coil packs to fail early?

In my opinion, I like the idea of being able to change my wires or coils without having to take the intake off, but I don't have to do it that often to make the relocate worth it. The intake isn't that difficult to take off if you've done it before plus it gives you a chance to change out other things like the valve cover gaskets while you are in there. Also, I think the stock location is about as water proof as you can get in that engine bay

Agreed, by the time water reaches the coils, you have much bigger problems.
Ok I guess I will put them back in their cave. I was just thinking since I have them setting on the bumper of the truck right now and about to start reassembling, it is a good time to make any changes that I wanted.

Pftttt. My truck has been in water up to the mirrors. The only things i broke was my blinkers, grill, and headlight trims, but only because i tested my snorkel in a river of flood waters and the front of my truck was slammed with something. I still have the water in my blinkers... Worth it
