Default Which would you buy

I've sold my M3 and will be getting another D2 this weekend and have narrowed it down to 4 different D2's but was wondering what you guys thought. The one thing I don't like about the 2002 is no CDL.

#1 2002 Westminster Edition with 101K miles and decent service history
#2 2000 one owner with top end rebuild 500 miles ago but has 190K
#3 1999 randomly dies (probably crank sensor) and RR door doesn't open. 151K, no service history besides oil changes. The big advantage this one has is that I can probably get it for less than $3K
#4 1999 with 116K miles, no service history because it is at an independant dealer but it looks clean in and out, no dents and is about 1 mile from me.

I'll leave your question to the experts... But, you sold an M3 to buy a 2nd Disco? They should make a LR commercial out of that.

I would skip those. They are all 9 to 11 years old. I dont know your budget. But I would hold out for sweet deal on a 2004. There are plenty on eBay and Craigs list right now. I always think younger and lower miles is better on a Land Rover. Also gas is going to approach over $3 a gal at years end. You know there will be some cheap *** folks that cant take the heat.

It's hard to say without knowing the prices, but I don't like #2 and #3. #2 has 190,000 miles which is a lot but what worries me the most is that they spent a lot of money on the top end rebuilt and than decided to sell it after 500 miles. It might have serious problems or the top end repair is just a band aid to be able to get rid of it. #3 has 151,000 miles, no service history, and randomly dies. It might not be the crank position sensor, who knows. If it is a simple and relatively inexpensive fix like the crank position sensor than why don't the owners fix it and sell it or keep it. #1 sounds like the best even though it doesn't have CDL. It has 101,000 miles and has a decent service history which is real important especially on these trucks. If CDL is a must than I would pass on all of them and keep looking.

I left the prices out in my first post to try and make it more unbiased but here they are.

#1 $5000 obo
#2 $5500
#3 $3300
#4 $4800 probably not flexible cause it's on a lot

CDL isn't super important but it would be nice in the future. I'd love to get an 04 but I can't find one with the options I want for less than $9500 which is about $4000 out of my budget. One thing I like about the 2002 is that it has the updated mounting points for a child seat which would make taking my sons seat in and out much easier. Does anyone have production numbers and interior photos for a Westminster edition? I couldn't find anything online besides one person claiming there were only 300 world wide 2002 Westminster Edition D2's.

Going to approach? In PA, regular is over $3 now, and the premium I use is almost $3.30!

HAHA that is what i was thinking. we are up to $3.59 for 91 octane.

i would try and get the westminster for $3000. you have to take into consideration that if the head gaskets were not done that may be one of your first major issues.

i still cant believe how expensive these trucks are on the west coast... i have bought 3 99's in the past two years all with under 100k for $3,000, $1,000 and $1,500
