Default Yes, another lift question

Does a lift affect your MPG, or just tire size? Considering new shocks/springs and a 0-2" lift. May stay with the stock tire size for MPG and speedometer reasons.

Dan, do you do any wheeling, are you running 16 or 18 " tires?
The lift will give you a better ride and control and not really effect your mileage.
Have you looked any of the different lifts yet, if you want some help picking the right one for you, shout back.

Yes I go wheeling, but I don't ever plan to do anything that would require more than a modest lift. It's a DD first. I'm running stock 18" SE rims. Whether I get a lift or replacement parts only, it's coming from OME (MD rear and probably HD front if I decide to add an ARB Safari/winch bar).

A lift in itself will not really affect MPG like Mike said. However, with the lift, you will probably want bigger tires, which will affect your MPG.

Probably won't go with bigger tires as I'll only be getting a 1-2" lift. Was more concerned with the driveline angles.

you have to go a lot more than a 2 inch lift before you have to worry about correcting driveline angles more like 4 inch or better.

If i were you, for the looks of it, and for more diff clearance, i'd at least go up to a 265/60/18 tire. There's a few good treads in that size. I got BFG Rugged Terrains. They look pretty good with my OME lift, which gave me 2 1/4" over stock. They didn't really make a big difference on my MPG. With the tires and lift i think it went down by 1/2 MPG.

Good info...many thanks. Anyone got a picture of a 2" lift on stock size tires?
