I have an issue with a 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport SE. I bought this two years ago with 40k on it and now has about 70k on it.
Here are the two scenarios that happen with this car.
#1 Let’s say you’re driving down the interstate and come up on another car and you take your foot off the gas then press the gas again to resume sometimes there will be no throttle at all. Its like you’re pressing the gas pedal on a car that’s turned off. You have to coast to the side of the road and put the car in part then turn off then back on. After its fine, it does this randomly and I can’t recreate it on the spot. It probably happens 2 times a month.
#2 Let’s say you come to a red light and you’re at a complete stop. The light turns green, and you press the gas pedal but nothing will happen. The car doesn’t move and the RPMs don’t change, its like your pressing the gas on a car turned off. Again you have to put in park then turn car off and back on.
When both these happen the “D” beside your gear selector starts flashing. That’s happens every time, about half the time you will get a message on the dash that says “Gearbox Fault”.
There are no check engine lights on this car and I have taken it to the Land Rover dealership 3 times to have this looked at and every time they keep it for a few days and tell me they don’t see any problems. Which is laughable because as I’ve state it happens about 1 or 2 times a month so its very possible to drive it for a few days and not have this happen. Its also still under Land Rover pre-owned warranty until June of 2023.
I am desperate for help, I’m afraid its going to happen on the interstate and cause an accident. Thanks for reading and any help or advise you have.
