Default 2nd row seats don't fold flat

Has anyone else had trouble folding the 2nd row seats completely flat? Best I can get is about 30degrees. Tried searching forums and online and can't find any help anywhere. Has anyone else found this problem and how did you figure it out? Mine is a 2019 disco sport SE.

Default 2nd Row passenger seat doesn't fold flat. 2017 Discery HSE

It sounds like it not too common, but I just recently purchase a 2017 Discovery HSE with similar issue. I took it in for service and the service group did not completely understand the problem, which resulted with them replacing a cable, a lever, which did not resolve the issue. Before I left the dealer, I try to fold the seat with the same issue, the back seat would only go in approximately 30 degree angle, I had the service tech see exactly the issue and they re evaluated and stated the seat frame was bent and I would need to replace it. I reached out to Land Rover 800 who just responded with typically canned response your vehicle is out of warranty. Just me, but I would think most people would not think a manual car seat frame would ever require maintenance. Seems like I may just have to replace, but looking for any suggestions.

I have this same issue - manual 2nd town seats will not fold flat. I doubt it’s the frame because the same happens with both sides of the 60/40 split bench. It seems they would be on different frames. The owner’s manual app shows the seats folding at but the best I can do it forward tilt and slide forward. The center seat back does fold down independently.

is there some trick to this that I’m missing? I have a 2018 Discovery V HSE.

  • You have to fold down the headrest down fully then move the seat forward. For the first year I thought that my back seats didn't go down either but it's just because you have to do the headrest first. I finally learned this via YouTube and now my seats go down fine. Just fold the headrest down as much as you can and then try. There's also a button in the back but I don't think it works either unless the headrests are down.
