A bit of an update...
Hello GeoC, Hello DiscoMike;
I have gone back to the paper air filter, but with some mods. to the air box!
Also, I have replaced my stock alternator with a Mean Green (220 Amp) High Output Alternator.
If you are going to do this (replace your stock alternator with a high output alternator...plan ahead!)
MG Industries (Mean Green), works at their own pace...I had to wait for a month for my alternator!
I could not start my truck, after replacing the alternator, so I replaced the battery.
Still, my truck would not start. I then replaced some "question-able" fuses, still, my truck would
not start!
I had it towed to California Rover in Encinitas, CA. They replaced the starter (for $404.62..."ouch")!
Now I'm back on the road, with a few small gliches. I want to replace the door latch actuator.
I over state the word actuator, because a "gentleman" on eBay (818rover08), wanted to correct me!
I found out he is also connected with Land Rover's Land, in Sun Valley, CA.
He became VERY indignant when I suggested that not only the dealership, but my Owner's Service Manual
calls the outside of the door, an door latch and the inside the door (behind the door panel), a door latch actuator.
An actuator, because if is operated by a 12vDC motor!
I want to "sing the praises of Specialized British Recycling, in Rancho Cordova, CA (John and Dan)!
Thanks much to DiscoMike...
Donald
