Had it together by like 11am?

My helper today got off work at 5am so by 11 he went home to sleep

We may try to drop it in tonight before he goes back to work then I can button it up

I bought the jaguar mounts I see guys recommend, the studs are skinnier?? Actually 3/8 x24
Old are more like 1/2"

My mounts were not broke but had shifted and started to de laminate

Ended up throwing the copper rad back in for now

That doesn't sound like an overwhelmingly uplifting report Tom. The thing's gotta loosen up still and that won't happen until you've got a few more miles on her like a couple of tanks worth......... Which chain did you go with, stiff or loose?

Well guess the million pound anchor I drag feels lighter lol, did not know there was different types of timing chain, old had a lot of slop, new was tight

Yeah, there's two according to Rovahfarm. Not sure why you'd toss a worn chain and replace it with another loose chain other than it's new/loose? Makes perfect sense.

By any chance did you check your block oil drillings in the bottom end or top end of the motor? My top end to the rockers the first time I did a hg replacement where occluded big time, took more time clearing them than knocking the carbon off the slugs. These and their SBB cousins are notoriously lousy oilers......

You and low oil pressure go hand in hand.....it's a fatal attraction.

I don't doubt your still tight. Like I said, it took me about a day to clean the drillings of the sludge cemented walls, I was amazed at how much crud I removed and I know it's the only reason this motor of mine has lasted as long because it sure showed massive oil change neglect prior to my ownership.

Hmmm, I think I'll give that a try on the outside! Degreaser aint cutting it. I need to stick my hands in there soon and I don't want to feel like another calf birthing.
