Freelander
what kind of mods you looking for. I built a cold air induction for mine, installed an eletric fan, removed rear muffler and replaced front muffler with a flowmaster, Installed some MSD wires, got rid of running boards and rear step to lighten it up a bit.
put a 175 shot on it, caution: internals will likely be blown. check out bassani or maybe borla, i think they might make a cat back exhaust for it
what the problem is a 2.5 liter v6. if it had, oh, lets say a 5.0 H.O., that would be both impressive and fast. one of my other vehicles is a 94 mustang GT convertible, mint condition, all stock, all that showroom quality BS, well it is quick. if you want speed, get the freelander out in the country any hit up like 110, that is what i do. the mustang, more like 135 in no time. freelander even at top end takes a while to get to speed.

i just find my freelander a little slow in pick up...is there anything i can change to make it faster? ie. changing the transmission maybe? im not sure...~

about the front gears, that might be kinda tough on a transaxle, rear would be like any other vehicle. but i don't know transmissions as good as i do other stuff, still learning
you can do gears in front and rear but it will be a big and expensive task. try enginge mods to save money, and if your not a big time off roader i would not mess with the running gear.
