Default Lift Kit Prior to a DII LS Swap

I have an 04 SE7 and am preparing for an ACE / LS swap (aluminum if possible). I've read the threads but its not clear if a suspension lift is necessary for clearance. I don't intend on off roading other than some occasional well traveled trails. Is it necessary to lift the suspension via a 2in lift? My preference is to keep it at original ride height but just update the suspension, bushings, shocks, springs (if necessary) etc.

TIA,
Overseas Living

Yes you will need at least 2" lift. the problem is oil pan to front axle clearance. I have a 2" lift. and only have 3" clearance.

Thanks. The ACE kit stated that with an aluminum block, a lift is not required but that doesn't align with everything that I've read. I have an ACE kit but don't have the engine yet.

I have a L33 with the low profile GM LS muscle car swap pan, I will see if I can find the part number. My paperwork with the ACE kit say a minimum of a 2" lift is needed. The L33 is a aluminum block.
With the ACE engine mounts depending on the intake you are planning on using you can lift the engine about a inch before it will hit the body. My passenger side head was stopping me with a switch to TBSS intake.
