Spam/Virus PM's
This is more for a site admin as notification but is good for anyone else who receives similar messages.
I have received a PM from user Billiink, who has no posts and joined in march.

Hi Robb, whatcha doin' over here...seeing how the other half lives?
Unfortunately, this seems to be the way many spammers are operating lately, using forum's PM systems to send their crap rather than posting in open forum. Makes it harder to moderate as mods/admins have to receive complaints in order to act on them, and if the users don't complain, then we don't know about it. I've received a number of PMs similar to the above on several other forums I'm registered on lately, even though I've been inactive on a few of them for a year or more. Haven't gotten any on my IB forums though...

Hey Dan, nice to see a friendly face around here
We have some pretty good filters in place that catch many spammers at the time of registration. Now we also have further restrictions in place to ensure that new members can't send out a mass of pm messages immediately upon registration. I imagine these methods are common across all of our sites, leaving us in the best possible shape.
What LR do you have Dan?
