04 Freelander timing disturbed
Please any body; i am installing a new timing belt on my buddys 04 freelander Ln 2.5L v-6; unfortunately prior to calling me he decided to play with the crank i.e timing disturbed!! factory manual says to set crank to "safe" position, then set cam timing, great, all done correctly. manual then goes on to insruct me to insert flexplate locking pin into the flexplate, great, problem is holes don't align!! at this point am i supposed to rotate crank to allow for pin insertion. then install the timing belt???? as it is now, timing CLEARLY not right, when attempting start, air blowing OUT of the intake!!
