My Wifes 2003 Freelander SE with about 25K miles

The tail lights have quit working, the two large ones to the sides of the tailgat door. Those brake lights work as well as alll other lights.
The fuse looks good.

Surely this isn't a series circuit and it is a bulb element burned out?

What's up with this guys?

I am currently having a lot of trouble with my tailights. Fuses are good. Put new bulbs in and they go bad quickly. I think water gets in.
