Default 2005 V6 Shift Lock

Shift lock solenoid will not retract. Brake lights work. Temporary fix by removing solenoid. Tapping brake to release cruise control does not. Suspect that they are related electrical problem. Must be different circuits for brake lights and shift lock/cruise interrupt.

Default 2005 V6 Shift Lock

HI - it sounds like I have the same problem. I put in a new break switch thinking tha this would solve my problem. Now the lights work find but my Freelander 2005 is still stuck in Park.
I assume that you got this fixed - how?
Thanks very much
