Default Adding tranny fluid in 2002 freebie

How do you ad fluid or check it in a 2002 freelander?


Where the hell is it?

If you don't mind getting dirty I think you must drain all oil first then fill from a small inlet at the back top side if you find it remove plug then get a long funnel and fill with 3.5 ltrs of propper oil i just take it into the tranny shop

Freelander's us a special tranny fluid which I believe you can only buy from the dealer. Check out your owner's manual before you do anything.

dont go crazy with removing what you think is a drain plug!!!!!!!! there is one that looks like it would be however, it is a hold for a detent spring, if you remove this one, your rebuilding a trans.... do your research first!

Default Freelander tranny fluid

Thanks all, I will "try" not to do anything stupid. Why I wonder does it not have a dipstick to check tran fluid?

And dont say "it's british" , I have some brit freinds and they arent stupid.........Oh wait a minute.....there not Brit's, there Scot's.
