Default burnt smell

Hello all,

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Every now and then I get a burnt plastic smell inside the car. I took out the radio, and I even saw slight traces of smoke coming out behind it. This usually happens when the motor is still cold and I accelerate a lot.
Does anyone know what this could be.... before I take it to the garage?
thanks

Default RE: burnt smell

By accelerate alot do you mean you thrash it? I don't know about the radio thing but if the engine iscold and you are gunning it then that's probably not gonna be good for the engine anyway and will probably lead to some burning smells coming from the engine.Keep an eye on your coolant etc. as you run the risk of blowingyourhead gasket if you don't. At least that's what I was told. Unfortunately I forgot to and a ended up with exactly that about 4 months ago. You live and learn as they say.
