Default Freelander 2 with a bucket of issues

Hello all,

I am new here and found the forum after some search because....Freelander 2 Issues.

My car is:
Freelander 2, 2008, 2.2D, Manul, HSE and i have some problems that I cannot figure it out. Have been to some services but everyone is scratching their head, so:

Problems:
Terrain Response System NOT Available
Airbag check ON
Wipers in Service Mode
No horn
No Cruise Control
Bad smell of burn cables, circuit

All this happened at once. Car starts and runs ok, fully charged the battery.

I run a full diagnostic(THINKCAR diagnostic) and here are the results:

ECM (Engine Control Module)2 Problems exist
1,P0120-00 Throttle/pedal position sensor A circuit
2,P0380-00 Glow plug/heater circuit A

SRS (Supplemental Inflatable Restraint System)
1 Problems exist 1,B00D5-14 Restraint system passenger disable indicator

BCM (Body control module)5 Problems exist
1,P0801-15 Reverse inhibit control circuit malfunction
2,B10A2-00 Crash input
3,B10EA-14 Positive temperature coefficient heater
4,B1C96-15 Alarm LED circuit
5,U0138-00 Lost communication with all terrain control module

HCM (Headlamp Control Module)1 Problems exist
1,C1A05-14 Rear left height sensor

RDCM (Rear differential control module)
1 Problems exist
1,U0138-00 Lost communication with all terrain control module

The following systems are OK:
1,ABS (Anti-lock Braking System)
2,SASM (Steering angle sensor module)

My guess is that there is something with the TerrainControlModule that cascades in all this but any ideea is welcome.

Thx in advance for your ideeas.

There are two root issues at play, that require further investigation.
1. Crash Input!?! Is the vehicle in crash operating mode?!?
2. Lost communications... typically means there is not enough electrical power to power up the modules... meaning the battery is below par... unless the vehicle is in crash operating mode...
3. Not to mention "burned electronics"?!?

Hi,

Thx for the reply, ill try with a new battery in a few days and see how it goes. I bought the car 2 years ago so not sure about the crash but looking at the diagnostic software / tool I have, i think i can reset that.
In regards of the burned electronics, burn smell, melted plastic, could not find anything yet and my dashbord is taken apart almost completely.

Weird part is that smell comes only when ventilation is on so thats why I started taking apart the dashboard.

ill keep investigating this more after the new battery will arrive.
