Default Lighting up like Christmas. Please Help!

Hello,

2005 lr3 v8.

Last week when I was slowing down to make a turn, it seemed like it made a hard down shift. Right after that, the vehicle lowered its height, the yellow triangle with a circle around it came on, the green Low gear light keeps flashing. The dash stated HDC system fault. and parking lights are on the dash too along with the hi and low gear indicator on the console flashing. When parked, the E-brake engages and she freaks out if you turn off the e-brake and states transmission fault.

So far I have replaced the brake light switch, had interstate test my 2 year old interstate battery(they said it was good), and replaced the transfer case control module. None of these things have made any changes with the warning lights or lower height. She starts up without issue.

At this point I have no clue what to look at next or replace.

Please help me so I can get her running without issue again.

A GAP tool would help.

If you want to throw parts at it, a transfer case motor could be it.

Also could be your instrument cluster.

Abran,

I haven't had any issues with the LR3 for a while now and forgot I even had a GAP tool. So I just went and pulled the codes and prepare yourself. I know that something going wrong can trip other codes that may not actually be an issue.

Here is what I got:

U0155- Lost Communication with instrument cluster control module
P0501- Vehicle Speed Sensor A range/ performance
C1A00- Control Module
U0403- Invalid data received from Transfer Case Control Module
U0102- Lost communication with transfer case control module
U0132- Lost communication with ride level control module
U0184- Lost communication with Audio unit
B1A87- Battery disconnection/ electronic control unit reset
C1A73- Front right height sensor mechanism
C1A75- Rear right height sensor mechanism
U0416- Invalid data received from vehicle dynamics control module
C1A07- Cross Articulation
P0562- System low voltage
P0915- Gearshift position- circuit range/ performance
P1811- Four-wheel drive low ratio- short circuit to ground
P173E- Ignition key lock solenoid- Circuit low
U0073- Control Module communication Bus Off.
U0136- Lost communication with differential control module- rear
U0128- Lost communication with parking brake control module
U0155- Lost communication with instrument cluster control module
U0126- Lost communication with steering angle sensor module
U0122- Lost communication with vehicle dynamics control module
U1A35- VIN Data
U1A14- CAN Initialization Failure
U0300- Internal Control module software incompatibility
P0102- Mass or volume air flow circuit low input
P0122- Throttle/ pedal position sensor A - circuit low input
P0915- Gearshift position - circuit range/ performance

That sucks.

So I am wondering if something happened and tripped all those other codes? I replaced the Transfer Case Control Module today as well as the charged battery from interstate today. The Transfer Case Control Module was off a used vehicle and was not brand new. I may switch back my old one. The battery was at interstate for 24 hours for them to charge it because they said it was on the borderline of being low.

Any thoughts on where to start or what to check would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Sounds like a power issue. I suggest you check alternator output.

And clean the ground points. Then clear the codes and see what comes back

Default I might suggest...

...clearing the codes. Then, when the condition occurs again, see which codes pop up and/or are most recent.

As mentioned, clear and try to get a read right after it occurs.

Could be cluster or rear diff motor based on what I am seeing, but a lot more testing needs to be done.

Also, Try to read codes by each ECU.

If for instance, each individual ECU or a majority) say lost comms with cluster- That points to cluster, etc.

Good luck.
