Default Freelander 2 HSE 2007 - Tail Light Fault

Hi all,

Wonder if any one can shed some light.....

Drivers side Tail Light not working. All other lights in this cluster work and so do all on the passenger side. Drivers side Tail light voltage 10.5V. Passenger side (working!) 11.7V.
The lamp itself is fine.
Any body know the route this wire takes to it's source?

Thanks in advance

Additional info: I got a drawing now. It shows it going to an FET in the central electronics module. So I suspect the FET but it also feeds a ‘lamp side marker rear’. Any one know what that is so I can check if it’s on or not. This is in parallel with the Tail light. No idea what it is and it’s not the rh number plate lamp. That’s on a different circuit.

Thanks again in advance.

No worries. I solved it. Took the battery supply to the Engine compartment fuse box. This supplies the CEM where the FET’s are. That reset them. Job done. Tail light works.

could you clarify the above statement?
do you mean you replaced a fuse in the engine compartment fuse box? if so, which one? as none of them seem to be for battery supply.

however, if you mean you (temporarily) disconnected the battery supply to the engine compartment fuse box, did just disconnecting then reconnecting fix the issue?

Yes, I just disconnected the Battery, reconnected and the FET’s were reset. Apparently, in other models the FET’s trigger a fault message so they stay until reset but the Freelander 2 doesn’t use that feature but the FET’s still stay in the fault mode until reset. The only way to do that on your and my model is to disconnect the Battery. Hope that helps.
