Default Hill Descent Control

Soon after releasing the clutch after engaging the Hill Descent Control, a slight clattering noise is heard for a couple of seconds and then diappears.It seems there is no otherproblem while driving there after. Could anyone advice....Please.

That could well be the HDC operating - you get all sorts of "spranging" and "winding" nises as the ABS operates on wheels separately.

Thanks very much for your reply. I can now drive without any worries. Sorry for the delay in replying, as I was out of town for the past few weeks. I have another question.. A few days back the Hill Descent control Amber Light with an exclamation mark (!) was visible on the panel. When it was visible, the HDC control was not functioning. ( The Green icon did not appear). But within a few days, the amber light automatically disappeared, and the HDC started functioning normally. Your valuable advice is very much appreciated.
