Default New ECU or used???

Is it possible to use a used ECU/Computer in our Freelander or do I need to buy a new one like the dealer has told us? Any information about this would help. Thank you.

You can use a used one if you have someone with the correct software to install it. I have a good used for for sale for 80 bucks

The security interface is the barrier to plug and play.

I suggest you get a good known donor and then your defective one and contact Chad at SOS Diagnostics in Oregon.

They can be programmed on a bench so its plug and play for you.
