Default over revving and losing power

Hi All

I have a Freelander 2003 TD4 and am having a few problems.
Firstly, my trubo was working over time and I had no additional power when driving above 50mph in 4th gear or any speed in 5th.
I replaced the turbo airpipe and this seemed to rectify the problem for about 2 weeks.

Now, my engine is constantly over reving. I can be driving normally and start off fine, I change up to 3rg gear and my revs will go from under 2000rpm to almost 4000rpm.

Once this has started it will keep doing it all day. My engine management light does not come on.

My vehicle has done 115000km and a local dealer said that I needed a new clutch mechanism. This might be correct but I just wanted to get a second opinion as the same dealer tried to get me to buy a whole new turbo a few weeks back when I only needed one air pipe.

Can anyone offer any advise?

Thanks
