Default Radiator Fans

I have a 2002 Freelander SE with about 65,00 miles on it. I used to be able to hear the fans work while driving and after i turned it off. Now I do not hear or see them working (before/after/during operation). The service engine soon light will come on and go off when it wants. Every time i check the codes the reference the fans not working. It has not overheated, i keep the level of coolant at the recommended levels, however the engine does not overheat for some odd reason(not that i would like it to but i figure that would be normal). BOTH fans do not work. If anyone has any knowledge of what might be wrong or where to start with troubleshooting i would greatly appreciate the help. Thank you in advance!

Will

The relay for the fan may be bad, you could start by checking the fuses first. I would also suspect that the brushes in your blower/ fan motor don't make contact anymore. They could already be worn out.

Will, The fan resistor pack is probably bad. It may have blown the fuse also. It is the silver box mounted in between the two fans. Replace it ASAP, you NEVER want to over heat this engine.

Let us know the outcome.
