Default '00/'01 Range Rovers Hard to Maintain???

Anyone know anything about them. I kind of want to get one but my dad says he won't buy me one because it will be in the shop more than I will be driving it and parts are expensive. Is this true?

I have a 93 LWB and have not had problems until 2 years ago. Since then, I have been replacing things that are done in because of age and wear and tear. Some parts are expensive but mostly because dealer overprices. I found a local parts place as well as an online retailer with much better prices. Also find a good mechanic that will not steer you wrong. My experiences with Land Rover Dealers has been very disappointing. As much as we pay for these, I was surprised at their treatment. So I go to a garage that works on Jags. As in all vehicles, it depends on how the vehicle is treated. Depending on age of vehicle, if it is 5 yrs or older, plan on having a Rover fund of $1000 - $2000. More if you offroad. I look at it this way, my wife is expensive and high maintenance but I sure as heck would not get rid of her. I get too much fun out of her. Same with my vehicle. Worth the price.

You will hear all sorts of stories, but bottom line, it's English and it is a 4wheel drive. sp yes you may incounter some expenses. Do you want it for its looks or are you going to be doing alot of 4wheeling?
