Default 01 RR Sun roof problem

I'm new here, live in AZ and need help. On my 01 RR the sun roof will not vent nor seal the drives side. The part that broke is the plastic that is connected to the cable that moves the sun roof. I am adding a pic or 2 to see if some one that can help to get this part and not buying the whole track.

Good luck with that. I haven't seen parts for the sun roof rails sold individually. You might try Ebay.

Different setup than the earlier Discovery sun roof.

The dealer now does sell a few parts for the sun roof separately. Can't say offhand exactly which pieces, but I know the dealer has some in my wish list.

Have you tried high strength epoxy? I used it on the Disco I cable and it seems to work well enough.

Longer term I'm looking to replace the plastic with brass parts.

try looking in a Hemmings Motor News if I remember correctly there are a few people that sell very small casting kits to cast new plastic parts for old cars.
Basically they are two blocks of clay, top and bottom and a two part epoxy that you mix pour in the mold and let dry. Pop the two pieces of clay apart clean up the parting seem and you have your new part.

From Land Rover you need the entire rail, p/n EHD100140 and 150 for LH. If I remember correctly, they're far too pricey for the fix. When mine broke, I took it apart, heated up a small threaded rod and allowed it to melt into the plastic out of the way of everything. Then applied epoxy to the outside. Its worked for a couple years now, but I will say I'm still a little weary whenever I open it. Never open it when there's a chance of ice being on top of it!

Where did you get that price dave? and the one pice that is broke the other end is lost some where in the rover . I ordered the LH track for 312$ with shipping. The company Headliner Express in Florida very nice guy will beat anyones prices for land rover parts, or at least try. Let me know were you can get that part for 150. Thank you for the info

Sorry for the confusion, I wasn't quoting a price, what I was trying to say were the part numbers, EHD100140 for the RH, and EHD100150 for the LH.
