?? 08 RR Sport SC - Lower Control Arm Questions
I’m replacing both lower control arms on my 08 sport sc. I’m seeking answers to a few of my questions regarding installing the new control arms. I plan on taking my sport to my local mechanic afterwards for a full wheel alignment.
1. What is the proper height from the center of the CV shaft to the bottom of the finder? I think it may be 18.5” but not sure.
2. What are the torque specs for the back control arm bolts?
3. What is the torque specs for the lower air shock bolt and ball joint bolt?
4. What is the torque spec for the wheel hub nut? Do I need to remove this nut and push back the CV shaft before removing the ball joint nut? I read somewhere that in order to get to the ball joint nut, the CV shaft has to be pushed back for access. Please advise if this is true. I think in any case, it will aid in the removal of the ball joint.
I will be using all new bolts and nuts and plan to mark the original camber bolt positions with a bit of spray paint before I remove it. This way, the eccentrics will be in the alignment ball park before I can take it for a proper alignment.
If there are any additional words of advice or “make sure to do”, please feel free to send them my way.
Thanks
