Default 1974 2 Door Range Rover HELP Mods etc...

I have been searching like crazy to find more info. Seems the US doesnt have very many. I just moved to Costa Rica and bought a 1974 Range Rover (which btw gets horrible gas mileage, and at $5 a gallon, hurts a little)

I have been trying to find out Mods that I should do to make it better, more reliable, more power, even more fuel economy(though I think I am going to have to replace the engine)

I am not concerned at all keeping it all original, I bought it for ruggedness, style(it looks like the newer range rovers) and it was cheap!

I have been looking, the only one that I have found that was modified had a bunch of LR discovery parts put on, brush guard, axles, front seats etc...

Thoughts anyone?

Thanks in advance!

You have a rare rangie, don't let it go! At least not for cheap . The only mods you should be making, should be tuning it up. I don't know for sure what the original RRs got for fuel economy, but many classics and the p38 routinely get 15 to 16mpg. Even though you made it clear that you won't, I would leave it stock. The more you modify the original RRs, the less they are worth. If I remember correctly, the originals were generally very reliable.
