Default 1995 Range Rover Classic Cam upgrade.

This is my 1995 Range Rover Classic LWB 4.2L

This is a slide show of every part from start to finish. Part 2 will have video and audio on the project, soon to be uploaded. A big thank you to Savannah Buzz for the timing chain info! If anyone is thinking about the project, all you need is 4 hands and 2 days!

The Newest video on the project, Part 3 with a more in-depth look on the project will soon be up.

Has anyone had any experience with Mallory Distributors? Are they a good addition to the rover? I need better timing with this cam.

I would look at a GM HEI distributer One Wire to hook-up; the coil and ignition module is in the cap and parts can be bought anywhere. All you need is one wire that has 12vt or better when the key is on, it also has a port to hookup your tac.
look here: Hei Land Range Rover V8 Upgrade to GM Distributor New | eBay

I put one in my jeepster next to the One Wire GM Alt. it's probably the best upgrade i ever did to it.

Thanks for the suggestion! But Isn't that Distributor a little large? With the cooling line and alternator right there it seems a little tight. Do you have aftermarket distributors on your Land Rovers?

As I said I run one in my jeepster. I thought the same thing but they really aren't that big. I will be installing one in my RRC along with one wire alt. to get rid of as much Lucas stuff as possible.
Send an email to the distributor and see if he can put you questions to rest.
I do have a Mallory in my Bronco and between their distributor, modular and other proprietary stuff it cost me a small fortune and I end up going back to the stock Ford setup after a year of screwing with it.
