1999 calloway Hse - Should I buy it?
Possibly looking to buy a 1999 rr calloway HSE with 94,000 miles. Needs a head gasket. They're asking $2500 OBO for the truck. Everything else on the truck is pretty mint. Is this a good buy?

But people always ask crazy crazy money for good running Calloway's, I dont think they ever get it.
is it the only on craigs list in the backbay? i think thats the same one the guy wanted 8k a little while ago

They pop up from time to time. Most have head gasket issues because the heads are machined to within an inch of their useful life. If I were to pick one up now, I'd replace the calloway heads for a good set of stock 4.6 heads.
Most of the value is the heads in my opinion. Basically, I believe they decked the heads (for a 9.6:1 CR), did a port and polish, gasket match, and a three-angle valve job. Without the heads, the only differences are shortened ram stacks, a slightly larger throttle butterfly, and badges.
