Question 2001 HSE running a little hot

My rover runs pretty darn hot after even short trips. I don't get any temp warnings temp gauge looks good. The engine feels very hot to me though. When I remove the oil cap I get a little smoke too. Fluid levels are perfect, oil antifreeze ect....

Other than that it runs good. leakey valve covers and oil leakage but overall not bad.

Oil does evaporate... unless our gauges are reading hot, you're getting a lot of smoke, or have any other reason to believe it is running hot, I wouldn't worry.

I tend to be very particular about my rover too. A little odd noise might cause me to panic . If you are curious as to whether your gauge is lying to you, hook up an OBD scanner to it. Temps should be anywhere from 190 to 220F. This is how I found out my rover wasn't actually over heating like the gauge said lol.

Get used to the leaks! Mine leaks, not a ton, but enough to make you go WTH when you look at the concrete in the garage.
