Hello there!

I've got a serious problem, i think. Basically i bought an used Range Rover. But i think that the previous owner has updated the computer with BMW-s software which bricked it. I mean i don't have any navigation selection on the screen, though i have the unit in the back working. I mean it works all the time, can't turn it off which sucks, because it eats battery. Also under Service Mode i can't identify the version, as you should.

Someone said 3-1/32 is the last version for MK3 Range Rover unit. Does anyone have a link for it? Would be appreciated.

It is probably in service mode because it is waiting for the disc or to be programmed. I am assuming the nav disc is in the navigation box in the back right? If it is make sure it is the range rover one. The BMW one does work but, I have always been a little skeptical. There might be a cable loose or inside the dash too.

Sorry, my English might've been a messy.

Anyway - no, it's not in Service Mode all the time. But under Service Mode there should be more options. In some other LR forum one nice member told me my computer is in very "basic" mode. As if someone has tried to update it with some wrong update (like BMW's). That's why i only have 2 Service Mode options and can't see the version on the right corner under SET, for example.

Also, i don't have Navigation selection in computer. The unit is working in back which seems weird. ATM it doesn't have any CD inside it, but it makes noises. It doesn't shut down. And also, when trying to insert some NAVTEQ CD, it reads it, but doesn't do anything. No GPS selection appears on the screen.

I got the original software for 2002-04 RR, maybe it reads that one. It should revert the software. Maybe the unit is bricked itself?
