Question 2003 RR:::Disarming Alarm&Keeping it OFF!!

Hi, my father just bought me a 2003 Range Rover. I'm in college and out of state, I woke up this morning to my alarm going off for no reason. This is about the 5th time it has happened. Unfortunately I didn't hear the alarm , so now my battery is dead. Is there anyway to disarm and keep the alarm off. It's getting pretty annoying. Everytime I turn around the alarm is going off by itself.

I'm thinking that these cars are not what they are cracked up to be...should've stuck with a Honda.

personally, id fix it. 9 times out of 10 its the hood switch. you can go two ways with this. unplug it, or make it work right. its located under the hood, on the rear drivers side, on the backside(towards the steering wheel) of the first firewall, right by the abs unit. its a little black push button. to fix it, take a small o-ring, or something comparable and glue it to the top of the switch, so that the switch still goes up and down all the way, but when the hood hits it, it now goes a litlle furthe down. you want whatever you use to be smaller then the top of the switch. the reason for this is if you look on the underside of the hood, right where it would hit, youll see the paint right there has worn off, and the switch is now sitting right between open and closed, so, someone bumps it, a cat jumps on it, or a swift breeze blows, it thinks the hood just opened.
