4.6 Timing marks???
Hey guys, I have a 1998 Range Rover 4.6 Iswapped into my 1991 Ford Ranger standard cab6 ftbed pickup. I am in the process of converting to the Ford EDIS-8 crank trigger ignition system and Megasquirt II EFI/Spark controller.
Can anyone tell me where to find the timing marks to indicate Top Dead Center so I can properly align the 36-1 trigger wheel for mounting behind the harmonic balancer?
Thanks for your help and I will be posting pics and text on how to do the conversion for anyone who may be interested.

Not sure if you have or not, but i'd grab the RAVE guide from green-oval as it should detail everything you need to know. Sorry I can't specifically answer your question... engines are the one thing I avoid like the plague.
WAIT, YOU ARE PUTTING A RANGE ROVER ENGINE IN A FORD? That is most likely a first, since for a few years ford has been putting engines into Range Rover. Good for you, and yes post pics
Yes, a Range Rover 4.6 in an old Ford Ranger pickup. For those who are interested here are some pics...

Check out the near perfect fit of the passenger side factory header... just a slight clearancing of the upper frame rail needed.

As you can see this little V-8 is compact enough to allow the install of a 2.25" core radiator in the stock location and still clear the factory Rover fan and viscous drive with room to spare.
I have to say I am impressed with the way the 4.6 fits in the Ranger's tight quarters, leaving easy access to spark plugs, no oil filter conflict and several inches of hood clearance. It required NO firewall clearancing, not even any bending over of the standing seam between the firewall and floorpan.
I was easily able to fit an inexpensive "off the shelf" radiator and get this...
that upper radiator hose... it's the stock factory 2.3 replacement from the local auto parts store!
All in all, so far, it's been one of the easiest swaps I've ever done.

Hmmm, guess I don't know how to post pics on here...
I've decided to replace the timing chain and gear set just to be safe and I read somewhere that a 1975 Buick Skyhawk 3.8 V-6 timing set is interchangeable with the Rover... can anyone here confirm this for the 4.0, 4.6?
I would like to run a double row roller chain and new sprockets.
