99 Range rover will not start, could it be a bad starter?
new battery and new alternator just 2 months ago and the car wont start. The electricity all works and everything works fine but when you go to turn the car over, its completely dead, no ticking noise or cranking or anything, does this mean bad starter?
It is possible, I would check all my connections first. The only other thing I can think of is a lock down of sorts in relation to the alarm system and starter disabled. What else have you tried?
Check to see that your battery connections are good (+ and -) and that you have constant 12vdc going to the starter and that when you turn the key to start you get 12vdc at the little trigger wire on the starter. If all that checks out, you have a bad starter, if not then it is most likely something else. Figure out for sure what the problem is before you start buying parts. LR parts add up real quick.
Here's another, make sure the shifter is actually in park or try to put it in Nuetral and start it. My Volvo sometimes does not click all the way and will do this. Just trying to think outside the box.
