'99 RR Air Suspension Success Story!!!
Hi all;
First off, let me say I have absolutely no financial interest in any of the products or companies mentioned in this post. I'm just so happy with the results that I need to share it with you all in the hope that it will help someone else.
I was having trouble with the EAS on our '99RR 4.0, and had figured out that the front air springs (original) were leaking slowly, and that something else was wrong which was causing the vehicle to not want to raise to height. It could be lowered but not rise again. BTW, in case you're wondering "how did he get it to raise in the first place do discover that it could be lowered if the EAS wasn't working?" I'll tell you that I installed a manual inflation system which has an air valve to each spring so I can pump it up from any air hose.
Anyway, the valve block assembly had just been replaced this past March, and the rear springs were new 2 yrs ago. I purchased the Rovacom Lite diagnostic system and was able to use it to tell that all the valves were in proper mode and switching states properly, etc. This, along with the rangerovers.net site (no connection either) allowed me to logically deduce that, in addition to the leaking front air springs the compressor was likely not functioning normally. It was continuously running and at first I had suspected the pressure switch was bad. Via the above noted techniques I figured it must be compressor and when I removed it and tested its output it was producing a whopping 7 psi!
I discovered that Dennis Altman in Nebraska who has Rover-Renovations.com sells a replacement teflon piston seal (like the compression rings on an engine piston) and purchased this along with two Arnott Industries (Florida) Generation III air springs for the front. I changed the seal on the compressor and the two front air springs in less than two hours total and have a completely functional Range Rover again! I could not be more satisfied with the Arnott springs and Dennis' replacement compressor seal! Dennis answered my questions by phone before I ordered anything from him, and the parts arrived as advertised. I can't recommend rover-renovations.com highly enough. Again, I have no interest whatsoever in this site except a perfectly running Rangie.

That's excellent that you were able to fix your RR and are pleased with the results. I recently purchased a set of Gen 2 Arnott springs (front and rear) that I will be putting on with new shocks as well.
