Default abs doesnt run

Hi, can anyone tell me how to test my abs pump, its not running. I've been having to push on the brakes hard lately, i now know my accumulator was probably bad now i have no brakes. How do i check the pressure switch to see if its not that before i buy another pump.
I havent seen any leaking brake fluid and the tank is full. thanks bob

Start with the relay in the engine compartment fuse panel first. If the pump isn't running, it's typically a power issue, or burnt out. Might have even lost it's ground. Pressure switch may or may not be good, but without power to the pump it doesn't matter, nor can you really tell.

Better yet, start with what year and model and what you have checked or done so far. Do you have an ABS light on?

i think shes a gonner, the pump i mean, i took of the airfilter cover for better access to the pump and got the eletrical connector for the pump apart and hooked up my multimeter as soon as the the key was turned i got 10.5 + volts continuously until i shut the motor off. I guess i need a new pump. bob

You may want to consider rebuilding it, if it is just the motor. I've read that sometimes the metal brushes inside just wear out and need replacing. It is worth a shot since a new pump is a little over a grand.
