Default air supension

Hi, I have a 97 RR HSE with 80,000 mi and live in Iowa where it is about 0 degrees of late. The air suspension take about 10 min. to achieve height so I
can drive it in the cold like this...whats my problem? Thanks for your help.

Your suspension should be at or very close to the correct height when you get in the car. If it is dropping overnight, you have leaks you need to find. When it is cold, the leaks are usually more pronounced. Along with the leaks, you have compressor that has been overworked. The unit is designed to keep the tank pressurized. If there is a leak somewhere, then it has to run all of the time to keep the bags and tank full. This wears out the seal in the compressor so it takes forever to build pressure.

Check all fittings for leaks with soapy water. You may need to use hot soapy water in Iowa this time of year. Also check the lines and bladders for leaks. The lower parts of the bladders get worn out. Set the suspension to full height an have a look. If all these pices look fine, then I would recommend a valve block rebuild and a pump rebuild. You may only need a seal for the pump, but the kit is pretty cheap so it may be worth doing the full rebuild. You can get parts and instructions here: EAS PARTS
