Wow, your horn sounds when you use you remote? Mine doesn't do that. My parking lights just flash. I think a lot of p38 rovers have had the alarm systems deactivated earlier in their lives. I know on mine, I have never heard the alarm, and due to all of the horror stories I have heard about the alarm systems, I hope I never do. My red dash LED does work however. On the alarm system, I would just leave well enough alone.

I'm with Wilson. Mine just flashes its parking lights and then the red LED on the dash where it meets the windsheild begins to flash. I will try and set off the alarm when I'm not in the neighborhood. Good luck!

The alarm on mine will not sound if you just unlock it from the inside, you have to actually open the door. The alarm systems were different from year to year on the P38 which always makes it fun when trying to diagnose problems. The super locking mode can be activated by pushing the lock button once, and then a second time. The sonic sensor above your head is only in use when the system is super locked.
